Developed with GOZEN's BioCraft technology, LUNAFORM™ is an organic new material — grown beyond its natural state and given a new sense of purpose. Through a process comparable to controlled fermentation, microorganisms create thick fibrous connections in water to form a biological lattice, with a tensile strength to rival traditional leathers. Once dried, LUNAFORM™ is uniquely malleable, with a sense of novel memory — capable of taking and retaining a vast array of forms, textures and colours.

In a water-filled bio-chamber, microorganisms feed on nutrients, initiating a controlled fermentation process.

As they metabolise these nutrients, the microorganisms begin producing fibrous streams of cellulose at a microscopic scale.

Over time, the streams converge into a single fibrous structure. Under the microscope, millions of interconnected cellulosic threads form a growing nanocellulose lattice.

LUNAFORM™ emerges as a singular 100% bio-based nanocellulose with immense structural strength and fluidity — a jelly-like consistency and striking translucency. Fully formed sheets complete their growth journey at 13 square feet, in seven days — once dried, uniquely malleable and ready to be transformed.

In post-processing, LUNAFORM™ takes its two forms. Translucent — sheer layers that play with light — and Origins, full-bodied with the signature grain. Custom colour, coating, embossing and backing follow, on generations of tannery craft.
